Hello and welcome to the Bristolgynaecologyclinic.

Specialising in gynaecological and pelvic floor problems.

This page will provide you a quick snapshot of my professional practice and expertise.

Professional Profile

I am a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist Urogynaecologist practising in Bristol. I specialise in gynaecology (women’s health) and urogynaecology (pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence).

I practice at Southmead Hospital (NHS) and the Spire Hospital Bristol (Private). After completion of specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology, I pursued my interest further in female pelvic floor problems (pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence) and undertook subspecialty training (fellowship) in urogynaecology in the southwest region. I have a keen interest in minimal access surgery in urogynaecology (laparoscopy) and have been developing this service at Southmead Hospital, Bristol. Most of the surgeries I offer are minimally invasive, either done through a key hole (laparoscopic) or without the need for a done (done through the vagina). I am the lead for Urogynaecology and Pelvic Reconstructive surgery unit at Southmead Hospital and the centre has been recognised by the British Society of Urogynaecologists (BSUG) for the high standards of care provided to women with pelvic floor problems. I also work in the Department of Urodynamics (Bristol Urological Institute, Southmead Hospital) and am involved in their teaching activities. I maintain a log of all my cases on a secure database (maintained by BSUG) and audits are performed regularly to review outcomes to inform my patients.

I have a keen interest in medical education and have a Master’s degree in Medical Education. I am closely involved in the training of specialty trainees in obstetrics and gynaecology and am a honorary senior lecturer at the University of Bristol. I have published in peer-reviewed journals and written book chapters. I am actively involved in the activities of the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA), British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG) and the International Continence Society (ICS) and am a member of various committees.

I am committed to providing a personalised and patient-centred care to women with gynaecological and pelvic floor problems.
