Mr. Chendrimada Madhu
MBBS, MD, MRCOG, MA (Med Ed), FHEA

Hello and welcome to the Bristolgynaecologyclinic.
Specialising in gynaecological and pelvic floor problems.
This page will provide you a quick snapshot of my professional practice and expertise.

Professional Profile
Mr Madhu Chendrimada is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist Urogynaecologist based in Bristol. He specialises in general gynaecology (women’s health) and urogynaecology, with particular expertise in the management of pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence.
He holds NHS and private practice roles at Southmead Hospital and Spire Hospital Bristol. After completing specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology, he pursued subspecialty training (fellowship) in urogynaecology within the South West, focusing on pelvic floor disorders.
Mr Chendrimada has a strong interest in minimally invasive approaches to pelvic floor surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic techniques. He has played a pivotal role in developing the tertiary-level Urogynaecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery Unit at Southmead Hospital, where he serves as Clinical Lead. Most of the procedures he offers are minimally invasive — performed either via keyhole surgery or through a vaginal approach. The unit is recognised by the British Society of Urogynaecologists (BSUG) for its high standards of care.
He also contributes to the Department of Urodynamics at the Bristol Urological Institute and is actively involved in teaching and training activities. All surgical outcomes are logged on a secure BSUG-maintained database and are regularly audited to ensure the highest quality of care.
A dedicated medical educator, Mr Chendrimada holds a Master’s degree in Medical Education and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He is the Training Programme Director for Subspecialty Training in Urogynaecology at Southmead Hospital and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol. He is closely involved in the training of specialty trainees in obstetrics and gynaecology and contributes extensively to academic research, with numerous publications and book chapters to his name.
He is an active member of the International Urogynecological Association (IUGA), British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG), and International Continence Society (ICS), and serves on several national and international committees.
Mr Chendrimada is committed to delivering personalised, evidence-based, and compassionate care for women with gynaecological and pelvic floor concerns.
